Erlang
Erlang is a telecommunication term that refers to traffic density in the busiest hour.
Erlang is normally used to calculate channels required for peak traffic loads (voice or data). It is based on Queue Theory and assumes a certain Quality of Service. Erlang is measured in hours and is determined by calculating the call hours in your busiest hour over a period of days or months. The maximum call hours in the busiest hour over this period is refered to as Erlang. QoS is the probability that a call will be blocked when attempting a call in the busy hour.
